The Underground/Teen Center Special Events

The Underground, also known as the Teen Center, is a space in the Lower Pavilion Room for ages 13-18 to gather during the summer. From June 10-Aug. 12, The Underground is open 7-11 p.m. daily (except July 4).

New this year, special events planned by the teens will take place 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays from June 14-Aug. 9, unless otherwise noted. View the schedule below and follow @undergroundlksd on Instagram for updates.

JUNE 14: Board Games at The Underground
This will be a fun-filled time in our first week to meet other teens and play some of your favorites. There will be messy ice-breaker games to get the fun going. Bring a friend and a game or two to share.

JUNE 21: Pickleball & Pizza
Bring your pickleball paddle and a friend to the courts at the Hubbard Pickleball Center for games and pizza. Prizes will be awarded to players for all kinds of events (some serious, some crazy). All skill levels are encouraged to join the fun.

JUNE 28: Pool Party – CANCELLED
Lakeside teens will take over the pool from 7-9 p.m. Bring a friend or two. Food and drinks will be provided.

JULY 5: Hot Dog/Donut Eating Contest at The Underground
So, you like to eat? Prove it. Join the Hot Dog or Donut Eating Contest with your friends. Prizes will be awarded, and of course, there will be food – hot dogs and donuts!

JULY 12: Improv with Scriptless in Seattle at The Underground (7-8:30 p.m.)
This will be a fun event with improv troupe Scriptless in Seattle. The troupe will meet with teens to develop an improv show (7-8:30 p.m.) at The Underground and then perform several skits for the Lakeside community from 9-10 p.m. in Orchestra Hall.

JULY 19: Campfire & S’mores on the Beach
Bring a blanket and/or chair and join Lakeside teens at the Beach for a campfire and s’mores. If you play the guitar, ukelele or another instrument, bring it!

JULY 21: RESCHEDULED Pool Party
Lakeside teens will take over the pool from 6-8 p.m. Bring a friend or two. Food and drinks will be provided.

JULY 26: Impossible Putt Putt
This will not be an ordinary game of miniature golf. Each hole presents a different off-beat obstacle. Lots of challenges and lots of fun. Prizes for best golf costume and hole prizes.

AUG. 2: Water Adventure
Join us for water games at the lake, thanks to Lakeside’s Recreation Team. Bring a towel and a friend.

AUG. 9: Season Celebration at The Underground
The Teen Leadership Group will plan this end of the Lakeside teen season.
