The Grammy-winning musicians of Apollo’s Fire return to Lakeside to bring the legends of Scotland and Ireland to life.
Celebrated for their folk-inspired programs that explore history through sound, the ensemble performs on period instruments with the freedom of folk players.
In their new program, Echoes of Ireland, nine musicians led by virtuoso fiddler Alan Choo trace the journey of Turlough O’Carolan, the beloved blind harper who traveled 18th-century Ireland playing at weddings and funerals.
From haunting laments and tender ballads to joyous dances, the rich sounds of fiddle, cello, Celtic harp, lute and voice create an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.
Apollo’s Fire will have a 15-20-minute intermission, with a total show duration of approximately 2 hours, including intermission.
Apollo’s Fire will be available for CD signing (autographs) after the concert.
