Functional Fitness, instructed by Kim Chiodi, is an exercise class focused on improving the body’s ability to perform everyday activities, from lifting toddlers and gardening to climbing stairs. It includes strength and cardio work with compound movements that move the whole body, such as pushing, pulling, bending, squatting and core.  
 
In this class, you’ll use your own body weight, and occasionally dumbbells and resistance bands, to perform constantly varied functional movements at relatively high intensity. Every session starts with a warmup (which we try to do outside) and ends with yoga stretching. Benefits include improvement in strength and stability, flexibility and mobility, balance and coordination.
