The Lakeside Art Show returns to Hoover Auditorium June 18-July 25, featuring original artwork from local artists of all ages and skill levels.
Join us for the Opening Reception at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the Hoover Auditorium lobby to meet the artists and be among the first to view and purchase original pieces.
The exhibit will be open for viewing Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. (except July 7), as well as 30 minutes prior to performances and worship in Hoover Auditorium. Guests are invited to vote for the Popular Choice Award. The last opportunity to view and purchase artwork is Saturday, July 25, before the Hoover show.
New this year, the First-Place winner will have the opportunity to present a Gallery Talk at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9, in Orchestra Hall, sharing insights about their artwork, their creative journey and what inspires their passion for art. Additional details and the artist’s bio will be announced once the winner is selected.
Adult artists receiving First, Second and Third Place will receive cash prizes, while other award winners will receive gift cards. Two special ribbons will be awarded: the Neil Glaser Watercolor Award and the Popular Choice Award.
Lakeside staff will select the recipient of the Laura J. Werden Lakeside Award, presented to the piece that best depicts a Lakeside image or scene. The award honors Laura J. Werden, who directed and organized the annual Lakeside Art Exhibit from 1956-1999.
