Turn up the volume on summer as the 2026 season of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) takes center stage. 

The beloved LSO returns with an inspiring season theme, American Threads, commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary. Woven throughout the concert series, this theme highlights the music, stories and spirit that have shaped our country. honoring tradition while inviting audiences to experience it in fresh and engaging ways. 
 
Under the baton of Music Director & Conductor Daniel Meyer, the orchestra presents a compelling blend of masterworks and lesser-known gems worthy of discovery, showcasing America’s rich musical heritage and the enduring connections that unique generations through song. 
 
The LSO’s summer concert series opens with a high-energy pops performance that promises nostalgia and pure fun. Opening night, "Total Eclipse of the Chart: ’80s Favorites," is a dazzling tribute of the decade that gave us the biggest hooks, boldest ballads and unforgettable anthems. 
 
Produced by Scott Coulter Productions, this electrifying program brings the iconic sounds of the ’80s to life with full symphonic power, blending pop energy with orchestral brilliance in a way only the LSO can deliver. 
 
Fans will remember Scott Coulter from his popular 2023 Lakeside appearance in "Music of the Knights," which featured the music of Paul McCartney, Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Now, he returns to help launch a season that blends beloved favorites with exciting discovers, reflecting the enduring threads of American music. 
 

PRE-CONCERT LECTURE
The excitement begins even before the first note of the concert. Join us for a Pre-Concert Lecture at 6:15 p.m. in Orchestra Hall, where guests can gain insight into the music, the era and artistry behind the performance.  


LAKESIDE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Founded in 1963, the LSO has long been a cherished Lakeside tradition and a cornerstone of the community’s vibrant arts programming. More than 80 accomplished musicians from across the country live in residence each summer, many returning year after year, bringing extraordinary talent, deep dedication and a shared love of music to the Lakeside experience.

SCOTT COULTER
Coulter is one of New York’s most honored vocalists. He was director and star of “A Christmas Carol: the Symphonic Concert” in its world premiere with the Baltimore Symphony and reprised his performance in the 2013 Emmy-nominated PBS production. He is an Emmy nominee himself for his performance in “American Song” at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
 
Coulter regularly performs in concert both as a solo artist and with a variety of legendary performers, including Stephen Schwartz, Ben Vereen and Sheena Easton and has performed with symphonies all over the world including San Francisco, Baltimore, Seattle, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Phoenix, Detroit, Winnipeg, St. Louis and Calgary. Coulter is creator, arranger and director of several touring shows and is the founder/owner of Spot-On Entertainment and Spot-On Arts Academy.
 
He is a resident director of programming at 54 Below (Broadway’s Supper Club), the artistic director of the Pocono Mountains Music Festival and founder of the Pocono Pops! Coulter is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.


 
DANIEL MEYER, MUSICAL DIRECTOR & CONDUCTOR
Daniel Meyer was named Music Director & Conductor of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra in 2019.  

As Music Director of the Erie Philharmonic and Artistic Director of the Westmoreland Symphony and Cleveland’s BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, Meyer has reinvigorated orchestras with his innovative programs, engaging presence and keen musical intellect. Read more…
