Prepare your heart for Christmas with this four-week Advent Book Study featuring The Advent of God’s Word: Listening for the Power of the Divine Whisper by Rev. Dr. Brenda Buckwell. Rev. Kimberly Orr will facilitate this meaningful opportunity for devotional study, reflection and fellowship.
We’ll gather on Tuesdays in December for a hybrid lunch-and-learn experience, with options to attend in person or online. Bring your own lunch. Participants are welcome to attend individual sessions or the entire series. Those registering for the online option will receive a Zoom link in advance.
All participants are asked to purchase their own copy of the book before the first session. Books are available at Millie Magoo’s & The Fine Print in Lakeside, as well as online. A limited number of copies will also be available to borrow during the in-person sessions.

New this year, participants (ages 18+) are also invited to take part in a companion 24-hour spiritual retreat with Rev. Dr. Buckwell, Dec. 11-12.
Retreat registration is separate from the book study, with two options:
- $65/person: includes two meals; lodging is booked separately
- $25/person: for online or in-person participation without meals.
