New this year, Lakeside is bringing a winter skating experience to Walnut Plaza with a synthetic ice rink near The Patio Restaurant and Orchestra Hall, weather permitting.
Made of specialized polymer panels designed to mimic real ice, the rink lets skaters glide on traditional metal-bladed ice skates without water or refrigeration. While the surface feels slightly different from traditional ice, it offers a fun way to skate without relying on freezing temperatures.
Whether you’re trying skating for the first time or enjoying a family outing, the rink is open to all ages and free to enjoy. A limited number of skates are available.
Important Rules
Skaters must sign a waiver and use the skates provided. Adult supervision is required at all times. No food, drinks or gum are permitted on or around the rink. Flips, jumps and carrying small children while skating are not allowed.
