Moises Borges Brazilian Jazz Quartet
Enjoy an evening of Brazilian jazz music with Moises Borges at the Steele Memorial Bandstand Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Based in Cleveland for over two decades, Borges is a gifted guitarist and vocalist born in Bahia, Brazil. Rhythms such as bolero, baiao, xote, afoxe, frevo, forro, samba and bossa nova are basic to his performances. His soothing voice and charm make for a wonderful evening of entertainment for all lovers of Brazilian jazz.
Borges has performed in numerous countries and venues, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Severance Hall and Playhouse Square.
An award-winning songwriter with three Brazilian International Press Award nominations, Borges is a gifted storyteller and performer. He shares his original songs along with classics by Jobim, Gilberto, Bosco and other favorites.
Far from his native Brazil, the music of his homeland come to life on stage.
