Chautauqua Gospel Experience & Concert
Lakeside’s 4th Annual Chautauqua Gospel Experience, hosted by nationally renowned gospel producer, director and bassist Johnny Parker, takes place on Sunday, June 8. This year’s theme is “Great Hymns of Faith.”
During the 10:30 a.m. Chautauqua Community Worship Service in Hoover Auditorium, singers from Lakeside and surrounding communities will join Parker in a Gospel Music Singing Workshop, learning traditional and new Gospel music selections presented during the service. Included in the service music are Parker’s wife, vocalist and director Laveta Parker, along with vocalist Ian Morgan and pianist/vocalist Khamilah Morgan.
Later that evening, at 7 p.m. in Hoover Auditorium, all are invited to a stirring Gospel Music Concert, “Great Hymns of Faith” featuring Pastor Anthony T. Parker, the Gospel group FAVOR, Ian and Khamilah Morgan, and the Gospel Music Singing Workshop singers joining the program. This concert is supported by James E. Beardsley and Doris F. Beardsley.
