Nikki D & The Sisters of Thunder
Nikki D & The Sisters of Thunder brings its unique blend of gospel and blues to Hoover Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 20.
In 2016, Guitar World magazine described Nikki as “The Jimi Hendrix of Sacred Steel” due to her experimental, vocal-like riffs and otherworldly sounds. She’s also a soulful vocalist who commands attention with her raspy, sultry voice.
The family-based group from Toledo is known for its powerfully moving, revival-like performances, featuring beautifully atmospheric vocals that ride a wave of infectious rhythms and grooves.
Nikki D & The Sisters of Thunder has shared the stage with The Rance Allen Group, The Slide Brothers, The Raconteurs and many others, performing with excitement and an energy that’s contagious.
When the group hits the stage, a forecast for handclapping and toe-tapping will be expected.
