On Sunday, Aug. 27, join in a special community tradition — folding Peace Cranes to promote world peace. Lakesiders of all ages are invited to participate from 1-4 p.m. on Walnut Plaza.
The origami crane has become a worldwide symbol of peace since World War II and is a tradition celebrated in song and story.
Fold one origami crane or 100. Children ages 8 and under are welcome if accompanied by an adult. There is no cost to participate, and pre-registration is not required.
