Keynote Concert: Alexander Star & the Golden People
Versatile musicians Alexander Star & the Golden People take the Hoover Auditorium stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11. This concert is supported by Visit Lauderdale.
Alexander Star is an Emmy-nominated songwriter, performer, keynote speaker and impact activist based in South Florida.
Star is committed to using his music as a vehicle for positive change and is proud to be considered a modern day “Impact Artist.”
Songwriting Workshop (ages 11-18)
During his Lakeside visit, Star will lead a “Dope Hope” Songwriting Workshop (ages 11-18) from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 in the Pavilion Upper Room. There’s no cost to attend, but registration is required.
The workshop continues Thursday, July 11, when registrants will meet in Hoover Auditorium at 2:30 p.m. to participate in the sound check for Star’s evening performance. The experience culminates at 7:30 p.m. at the Alexander Star & the Golden People’s concert in Hoover Auditorium where up to five volunteers from the workshop will help present the song written during the workshop. Alexander Star & the Golden People
Star’s work in the field of world change has brought his musical performances to more than 10 countries and several unique collaborates with the United Nations.
Star, combined with the incredible musicianship of the Golden People, creates a five-piece band that includes vocals, lead guitar, keyboard, drums and bass. The group has opened for Earth, Wind & Fire, Black Violin and Koffee.
Star’s performance at Lakeside is part message and part music, what the band refers to as a “Keynote Concert” – programs that uplift, inspire and energize.
Also known as the “Anthem Architect,” Star aligns his art with local, national and international organizations to shine the light of their impact through his artistic prism.
