An Evening with John Berry

Grammy-nominated country music artist John Berry will perform two shows in Orchestra Hall on Saturday, Oct. 12, following the Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival. Because space is limited in the historic theater, two concert times will be offered at 6 and 8 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person. BUY TICKETS ONLINE or purchase them on the day of the festival from the Hoover Ticket Office between 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Adults, youth, and children, regardless of age, are required to purchase a show ticket. Gate and Parking Passes to enter Lakeside Chautauqua are not required for this fall weekend. A Season Chautauqua Pass is not valid for this fall concert.

The singer-songwriter first rose to stardom on the country music charts in the 1990s with Grammy-nominated hits “Your Love Amazes Me” and “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” as well as “She’s Taken a Shine.”

During his star-making decade, Berry placed 20 singles on the charts, six of which reached the Top 5.

Berry was nominated for the ACM Top New Male Vocalist in 1994 and the CMA Horizon Award and Top Male Vocalist Award in 1996. He won a Grammy in 1996 for his participation in Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel, Vol. 1.

The singer’s powerful performances draw on a lifetime of making music and living life. Born in South Carolina and raised in Georgia, Berry began playing guitar at age 13, performing shows at 14 and making records at 19.

“By the time I was 17, I knew that music was what I wanted to do with my life,” he said, and he’s done it well ever since.

Last year, the country music maestro celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the release of his self-titled debut album.
