Concert in the Park: The Chardon Polka Band

The Chardon Polka Band returns to the Steele Memorial Bandstand at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7 to captivate Lakesiders of all ages with its innovative and colorful take on polka music.

The Chardon Polka Band got its start in the Cleveland music scene back in 2003 playing countless fairs and festivals. Founding member Jake Kouwe (accordion) began the group with the help of four other Chardon High School teens and has been leading the group since. While remaining active in Cleveland, the band can often be found taking their music on the road.

While The Chardon Polka Band has an extensive catalog of traditional polkas, the group isn’t afraid to add its own tunes or surprise audiences with polka-pop covers of hit songs by Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

In the case of inclement weather, this event will be held in Hoover Auditorium.
