Habitat for Humanity Project Build

The Lakeside community is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County to build a shed for a family in Elmore, Ohio, this summer. While the shed will end up in Elmore, it will be constructed in Lakeside. On July 18 and 19, the sound of hammering will be heard on Sixth Street (near Hilltop House) as Lakeside teens band together to share the Lakeside spirit beyond the gates.

Grown out of Lakeside’s focus on Best Practices of Community Building, this project reflects the generous acts of Lakeside people. Members of the 150th Anniversary Committee initiated the project. Kind donations to fund the project have been made. Lakeside’s teen leaders are providing support through volunteering to make this dream a reality.

Lakesiders are encouraged to stop by Sixth Street (by Hilltop House) to see the project in action on July 18 and 19. The shed will be blessed for future use on July 19 at 3 p.m. All are invited to attend the blessing.
