Interfaith Dialogue of the Abrahamic Faiths

Lakeside will host an Interfaith Dialogue of the Abrahamic Faiths: Judaism, Christianity & Islam from 3-4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14 and Wednesday, Aug. 16 in Orchestra Hall. This event is sponsored in part by a grant from the West Ohio Conference Foundation of The United Methodist Church.

The dialogue will be moderated by Rev. Dr. Tom Albin, former Dean of the Upper Room Ministries and Ecumenical Relations in Nashville, Tennessee. Guest panelists will be Rabbi Enid Lader of Beth Israel – The West Temple in Cleveland, Ohio; Rev. Dr. Hugh Burtner, Professor Emeritus, Department of Religious Studies at Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, Ohio; and Dr. Amjad Hussain, Emeritus Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, and Emeritus Professor of Humanities, College of Arts and Letters at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.

In the spirit of the E. Stanley Jones’ Christ at the Roundtable, the panelists will share the basic tenets of their faith and how their faith influences their daily lives. Following this time of sharing, there will be an opportunity for dialogue and open discussion.
