Jim Tressel Reception & Tailgate Party

Join former Ohio State University and Youngstown State University football coach Jim Tressel for a reception and tailgate party prior to his keynote presentation on Thursday, August 3. The reception will take place from 5:30-6:45 p.m.

A native of Northeast Ohio, Tressel coached at Youngstown State University (YSU) for 15 years and Ohio State University for 10 years. In his time at YSU, he appeared in the playoffs 10 times and won four national championships. At OSU, he guided the Buckeyes to the 2002 National Championship and seven Big Ten Championships. Tressel was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015 and into the YSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2015, he was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Tressel has published two books, given hundreds of presentations and lectures across the country and has had extensive involvement in fundraising and philanthropy, including the recent $1 million gift to create the Jim and Ellen Tressel Student Work Opportunity Endowment Fund at YSU.
