Liberty Aviation Museum Tour

Join Lakesiders on a docent-led tour of Liberty Aviation Museum from 1-3 p.m. Friday, July 14. Guests are to meet at the museum, located at 3515 E State Road in Port Clinton, and are responsible for their own transportation. Cost is $10 per person and pre-registration is required. REGISTER NOW!

Liberty Aviation Museum was founded in 2012 for the sole purpose of preserving the history of early aviation and the relationship of military and commercial aviation with the City of Port Clinton and the surrounding areas.

As a founding principle, the museum’s obligation is to honor, preserve and respect history, and with our proximity to Lake Erie, including watercraft in the historic collection was almost obligatory.

The museum displays planes, classic vehicles and Hollywood memorabilia. Guests can also check on the process of the reconstruction of PT728 now called “ThomCat” in honor of Ensign Leonard Jay Thom. ThomCat is expected to be part of the “living history” of Liberty Aviation Museum when it enters service as an exhibit inviting guests onboard for historic rides in Lake Erie.

This event is included with your Daily, Weekly or Season Chautauqua Pass.
