LISA MCDUFFIE | “Racial Justice 101”

In Lisa McDuffie’s 3:30 p.m. lecture titled, “Racial Justice 101,” she discusses the racial inequity that exists today is the direct result of “structural racism.” What happened and what’s the issue now?

Lisa McDuffie is the President/CEO of the YWCA of Northwest Ohio and is responsible for overseeing a $5-million-dollar budget for a 20-county service area with a staff of nearly 100 employees. Together with the board of directors, she ensures the empowerment of women, and the elimination of racism is addressed in all mission-based YWCA programs.

McDuffie has a master’s in science and social administration from Case Western Reserve and a bachelor’s in social work from the University of Findlay. She is a licensed independent social worker and has been extremely active on various boards and committees including the ProMedica Board of Trustees, Connecting Kids to Meals, CareNet and the Toledo Museum of Art. In 2020, McDuffie co-facilitated a group of African American leaders that produced The Toledo Black Agenda and led to the formation of the Toledo Racial Equity Inclusion Council.
