Movie: “Julie and Julia”

Orchestra Hall enjoys the distinction of being the only movie theater on the Marblehead Peninsula and Ottawa County. It is a historic theater to watch new and classic films.

Lakeside will feature the movie “Julie and Julia” at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. The movie is free, but Lakeside Chautauqua values donations to support these types of programs.

Julie Powell and Julia Child – both who wrote memoirs – find their lives intertwined. Though separated by time and space, both women are at loose ends… until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible. This film stars Amy Adams as Julie Powell and Meryl Streep as Julia Childs. (PG-13, 2h 3m)

The day before the movie is shown in Lakeside, join us for a Historic Portrayal of Julia Child, portrayed by Ruth Pangrace, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 in Orchestra Hall.
