Wave of Generosity: Summer Day of Giving

Join our “wave of generosity” this summer – one that started 151 years ago when our founders dreamt of a place where families could enrich their minds, bodies and spirits. Past Lakesiders have kept the wave flowing so we can be here today, and now it’s our turn! Donate to ensure that the same wave can carry Lakeside into the future for generations to come.

Lakeside is a non-profit community that relies on the generosity of families like yours to create the Chautauqua experience we all cherish. 

From now through Saturday, Aug. 3, if you give a gift of $25 or more or inform Lakeside you have planned a Legacy Gift, you will be invited to join us at a special Pool Party celebrating generosity in Lakeside on Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Swim Lakeside

Are you a swimmer? Jump in and swim to show your support of Lakeside! Swim 9 miles (the length of all Lakeside streets) by Aug. 3 and encourage your friends and family to support your effort.

Registration is $35 and all participants will receive a special “I Swam Lakeside” T-shirt and will be recognized at the Pool Party on Aug. 3. Proceeds from registration and donations towards your efforts will go to Lakeside Recreation!

Legacy Giving

Legacy gifts add an even bigger impact. Imagine 50 years into the future when your family and friends experience Lakeside, when newcomers stumble upon our beloved Chautauqua on Lake Erie.

What do we hope for them to see and encounter? How do we ensure those hopes and dreams become a reality?

One way is to give to the Endowment. Today, it totals $10 million and provides more than $360,000 to the budget every year. Growing the Endowment helps to ensure the Lakeside experience remains for decades to come. You can give a gift to the Endowment today or plan a gift for the future.

Every Lakesider, Every Front Porch

Multiply the impact of your donations by giving monthly! Lakeside has over 50 historic buildings to care for in addition to our beautiful grounds and our enriching Chautauqua programs. We’re inviting every Lakesider to give $100 a month and grow the wave of generosity. Imagine the impact we could have on our beloved community if 100 or more Lakesiders gave $1,200 a year.
