Lakeside is excited to welcome Nikki D & The Sisters of Thunder to the Steele Memorial Bandstand at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 18.
This family group from Toledo has a unique style of gospel music with blues riffs and grooves, all punctuated by a steel guitar.
In 2016, Guitar World magazine described Nikki as “The Jimi Hendrix of Sacred Soul” because of her experimental vocal-like riffs and sounds. She’s also a soulful vocalist that commands attention wih her raspy, sultry voice.
The group is known for its powerfully moving, revival-like performances with beautifully atmospheric vocals and infectious rhythms. Their excitement and energy are contagious.
